About Agasthyakoodam :
Agasthyakoodam is part of the lofty Sahyadri range of mountains. It rises to a height of 1890 meters above sea level which makes it the second highest peak in Kerala.
Agasthyakoodam is highly respected by both the Hindus as well as the Buddhists. This is because the Hindus believe that this mountain is the home of Sage Agastya, a disciple of Lord Shiva and the Buddhists think that this is the abode of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.

A distance of 28 km needs to be covered to reach the top and that takes about 2 days. Keep in mind the fact that passes have to be obtained from the Wild Life Warden, Forest Department, PTP Nagar, Tiruvananthapuram for trekking.
