Program of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 2011

Paravasi Bharatiya Divas mainly focuses on the significant role played by Overseas Indian for the growth and development of India. Started in the year 2003, this convention is organized by Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs or MOIA. The ninth year of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 2011, will be held in New Delhi, the capital of India, for the sixth time. With a chief focus on the North Eastern states of India, the program of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 2011, includes speeches, discussions, exhibitions and different cultural events.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is considered to be the biggest platforms for the NRIs and PIOs for exchanging views and at the same time for networking with each other on subjects of mutual interest.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 2011

Principally aiming the young Indian living outside the country, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 2011 will be a joint venture of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs or MOIA and Development of North Eastern Region along with the collaboration of 8 North Eastern States and CII or Confederation of Indian Industry. This will help the ministry in understanding the potential of the North Eastern part of the Indian subcontinent.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is organized in order to honor the contribution of the Indian residing outside the country. The different programs of this prestigious convention are meant to share the experiences of the overseas Indian living in different parts of the world.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 2011, Programs

The annual lecture on the theme of �Engaging the Global Indian� is one of the most awaited programs of the convention. One of the major events of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award which is presented by the President of India. The convention will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India on 8th of January. It will concluded by a valedictory speech addressed by the President of India.

Importance of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 2011

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 2011, will help the Government of India take decisions in a number of fields related to Overseas Indians. Some of the most credible ones include Overseas Citizenship of India scheme formulation, foundation of Prime Minister�s Global Advisory Council of People of Indian Origin, formatin of Overseas Indian Facilitation Center, forming the India Development Foundation, conceptualization of Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra, establishment of The Global Indian Network of Knowledge or Global-INK.
