Introduction
Mahua Kothi is located at Bandhavgarh at a distance of about 190 km from the Jabalpur Airport. The chief locational advantage of this Kothi is that it is just a few minutes drive from the famous tiger reserve at Bandhavgarh. It is spread over a sprawling area of 24 acres. It was known as Churhat Kothi before being named after Mahua, one of India’s most beautiful trees.
Accommodation
There are a total of 12 newly renovated kuthis (small village huts). Living here is surely a very unique experience. The huts have traditional mud floors and handmade pottery roof tiles. A courtyard leads you on to the huts. A swing is there too. There are roll down mats which protect the residents from the bright rays of the sun.
Dining
There is a special touch added to everything at the Mahua Resort. Early morning tea is brought to you in chulhas. The breakfast is given to you in the garden. Lunch tastes better when it is served to you in the cool shade of the Mahua tree. Dinner is laid for you under the star lit sky.
It is an open kitchen so you can see for yourself the food that is being prepared. The sherbets and the tea are very refreshing indeed.
Other facilities
Safaris are arranged in specially designed vehicles. You can also enter the forest in an elephant. There is a library for those who want to spend the idle afternoons reading books. A swimming pool is there for you get over the day’s fatigue.
