Sikandra (16 kms), Akbar's mausoleum is a majestic composition in deep red
sandstone and marble.
Itmad-ud-daulah (8 kms): The craftsmanship of Itmad-ud-daulah foreshadows that of
the Taj Mahal. This marble tomb was created by Emperor Jahangir's queen, Nur Jahan, for
her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg
Taj Mahotsav, a rare opportunity to see the master craftsmen working on traditional
crafts. The Taj Mahotsav, a festival of arts, crafts, culture and celebration, is a
perfect introduction to India and Agra. Mughal delicacies, heart-warming songs, dance,
drama and music by celebrities add color to the festival organized every year from 18th to
27th February.
Fatehpur Sikri (39 kms): A masterpiece of architecture, Fatehpur Sikri was the
creation of Mughal Emperor Akbar to celebrate the birth of his son. The city was
constructed in gratitude to Sheikh Salim Chisti. Places of interest are Diwan-i-Aam,
Diwan-i-Khas, Buland Darwaza, Panch Mahal, Jodha Bai's Palace and Birbal Bhavan.
