Royal Bengal Tigers

"A new-born calf fears not the tiger"

A tiger is also known as the King of the Jungle, specially the Royal Bengal Tigers. There are different species of tigers that are usually found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar. In general the tigers reside in the tropical rainforests of the jungles, in the temperate grasslands and also in the scrub forests.

According to the censor, there are at present 4,580 varieties of tigers in the world. The Royal Bengal Tigers measures 2.7 to 3.1 meters and about 140 kg. The Royal Bengal Tigers are mainly carnivores and they feed on the other herbivorous animals like the goat, deer, buffalo, wild boar etc.

They are also known to prey on the most exquisite peacocks and on young elephants that has shifted from its group accidentally. But the astonishing feature of the Royal Bengal Tigers is that they prey on the other carnivores like the leopards, crocodiles, wolves and dholes.

They overpower their victim by marauding on the spinal cord of their preys. During the day time they hide excellently in the long Elephant Grasses. Tigers are often encroaching by poachers because all their body parts mostly have medicinal effects.

But due to the fatal encroachments the number of tigers has decreased enormously. So, the Government has tried to save these wild animals and thus created sanctuaries for their protection.
