Kashmir abounds in a large network of rivers streams and brooks
and high altitude lakes that boast of a large population of
trouts, making it an angler's paradise.
The fabled natural beauty of Kashmir hardly needs an introduction.
The rivers Sindh & Lidder offer some of the finest mountain
river trout fish anywhere in the world today. During summer
the waters in these streams are swollen due to the melting glaciers,
which make them the ideal environment and breeding ground for
trout. At this time they offer a very demanding and exciting
sport, compelling the anglers to fish deeply on the edge of
the rock-strewn torrent. A day in Kashmir, spent with a fishing
rod beside the river, meandering through the rugged bolder-strewn
hillside in a frothy flow, will remain in your memory forever.
Day 01 - Arrive Delhi
On your arrival at the Delhi airport you will be met by our
representative who will escort you to the hotel, where we will
be holding the rooms on ready occupancy basis. Have dinner and
spend the night at hotel.
Day 02 - Delhi - Srinagar
An one-hour classic flight over the great Himalaya's will take
you to Srinagar (5200 ft) the capital of Kashmir, often referred
as the "Venice of the East". We paddle across the
dark green waters of the Dal Lake to our houseboat constructed
of Cedar wood. Elaborately carved walls and ceilings, a large
veranda, sitting room, and dinning room satiated with a subtle
fragrance are all the luxuries at your disposal. Enjoy a spicy
Kashmiri dinner and spend the night in the Houseboat.
Day 02 - Srinagar
In the morning enjoy a Shikara ride to the backwaters of the
lake. Paddling through Lotus and Lily pads, vegetable gardens,
floating vegetable and flower market, and floating gardens,
is a million dollar experience. If you wish you can fish in
the lake. We return to the houseboat for lunch. After lunch
we go on a sightseeing tour to the Mughal gardens of Nishat
and Shalimar built in 16th century by Mughals. A second night
will be spent on the houseboat.
Day 03 - Srinagar - Sonamarg (84 kms/03 hrs)
After breakfast, we proceed for Sonamarg, in a very beautiful
and scenic drive through villages and along the river Sindh.
Sonamarg (7200 ft) is often referred as the meadow of Gold (as
sona in Hindi means gold). Nestled amidst in wild flower beds
at the foot of snowcapped Himalayan peaks on the banks of the
river Sindh is our camp at Sonamarg where we camp for next 03
nights. Our camp is very comfortable with beds, chairs, carpets
etc. Spend the afternoon at leisure strolling along the river
or fish in River Sindh. Dinner and overnight stay will be arranged
at the camp.
Day 04 - Sonamarg
Wake up to a full day of fishing with expert Gillies,or Shikaries.
These men know the waters intimately - in many cases their knowledge
trace back to their ancestors, who before them have accompanied
visiting anglers on fishing trips. Dinner and overnight at the
camp.
Day 05 - Sonamarg
A 2nd full day of fishing. In the evening rest after a tiring
day of fishing or stroll along the banks of the Sindh. The 3rd
and last night at the camp.
Day 06 - Sonamarg - Srinagar
You are free to spend the morning the way you want. In the afternoon
we drive back to houseboat for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 07 - Srinagar
After a full day of rest we take an evening Shikara ride to
back waters of Dal Lake where you can fish if you want. Overnight
will be spent at the houseboat.
Day 08 - Srinagar
after breakfast we drive to Gulmarg, set in the lap of the meadow
of flowers that Kashmir is so famous for.Here you can horse
ride or play golf on the highest nine hole golf course in the
world. After lunch at Gulmarg we drive back to the houseboat
in the afternoon. Night will be spent at the houseboat.
Day 09 - Srinagar
We spend the morning sightseeing in the city visiting Shankaracharya
Temple and Kashmir museum. In the afternoon visit the Jesus
Christ Tomb & Jamia Masjid. Spend your last night at Kashmir
on the houseboat.
Day 10 - Srinagar - Delhi - Agra
After breakfast we drive to the Airport for flight to Delhi.
From the Delhi airport we drive to Agra. On arrival at Agra
we check into hotel and rest after a hectic day. We spend the
night in the hotel.
Day 11 - Agra
after breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we take a tour
of the city covering - Taj Mahal, and Agra Fort. In the afternoon
take an excursion to old capital of Mughal dynasty- Fatehpur
Sikri. Here we visit the Bulund Darwaza(the highest gateway
in the world) and the tomb of Salim Chisti. Dinner and night
stay at hotel.
Day 12 - Agra - Delhi
enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After that we drive back to Delhi,
en route visiting Sikandara. On arrival at Delhi we check into
hotel. In the afternoon after lunch enjoy a half day combined
city tour of Old and New Delhi. Spend the night at hotel.
Day 13 - Departure - Delhi
You will be transferred to the Airport for flight to your onward
destination or way back home with unforgettable memories of
the Angling and Fishing tour.
