Breast Surgery is done to reshape the breasts with the right contours to give a better and fuller view of the breasts. Generally undertaken by women for aesthetic reasons, it boosts the confidence and self-image as well as reduces physical deformities.
With the advancement of medical science and technological growth doctors are more equipped and competent to handle cosmetic surgeries. Indiaprofile.com offers information regarding breast surgeries in association with the best medical facilities of Apollo Hospitals.

Breast Surgery:

  • Breast Augmentation

It is a processes of enlarging the breasts or contouring them generally for aesthetic reasons after childbirth and nursing or women having small breasts.

  • Breast Lift or Mastopexy

A surgery which removes excess skin and lifts the nipple for a more fuller breast. This surgery is done to resist sagging and retrieve elasticity.

  • Breast Reduction

Breast reduction, a surgery done for aesthetic reasons; removes excess skin and fatty tissues to shape them into smaller breasts and also reduces neck and back strain.

  • Breast Implant Revision

Surgery involving replacement of an existing implant for reshaping the breasts.

  • Nipple and areola reduction

This surgery involves removal of excess skin and tissue from the nipple or the areola for aesthetic reasons.

  • Nipple inversion repair

A small opening around the areola can surgically correct a flat or inverted nipple.

    Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation also known, as augmentation mammaplasty is a surgical implantation behind each breast to enhance its shape. Enhancement of the breasts can be done at any age after the breasts are developed. Generally done for aesthetic reasons women undertake the surgery after severe weight loss, after childbirth or ageing when the breasts loses their volume and shape. For a fuller bust line women often go for breast implantation.

    Saline Breast Implants

Before one undergoes breast augmentation surgery with implants one can make choices regarding the surgery. One can either choose to implant saline or silicone implants. A saline breast implant is a pouch made of silicone rubber or elastomer. This is surgically inserted under the chest tissue or muscle and then filled with saline water through a valve. The texture of saline implants varies. Saline implants cause visible rippling and appears less natural than silicone gel implants. If the saline implants ruptures saline is released and the empty implants can be removed and replaced.

    Silicone Gel Breast Implants

In 70s the silicone implants had thick shells and thick silicone gels but today silicone implants have multiple layers of silicone elastomer around the implant. These implants are pre filled and are ordered by the surgeon. The shape of a silicone gel implant cannot be changed. Longer incisions are to be made to implant them and they produce a firmer and softer effect than saline implants.

    Breast Reduction

It is generally a problem with women who have large breasts to take part in physical activities apart from the usual back and neck pain. It just not spoils their posture but aesthetically it does not boost their confidence either. Skin problems, skeletal deformities and breathing problems are common for all women who have large breasts. Unusually large breasts can make one extremely self-conscious. This problem exists from teenagers to 80-year-old women.

Also known as reduction mammaplasty, breast reduction procedure removes fatty tissues and excessive skin to make them smaller and firmer. The surgery can also reduce the size of the areola. A well-proportioned breast with the rest of the body is the goal of the breast reduction surgery.

Breast reduction surgery is best performed when the patient has attained 20 years. It is also not advisable for women who intend to breast-feed since the surgery removes many of the milk ducts leading to the nipples. Breast reduction surgery is not a simple operation. It can have the possibility of complications, including infection, bleeding, sores around nipples and sometimes loss of blood supply to the nipples and areola leading to no sensitivity.

Surgery techniques in breast reduction vary. Performed by competent plastic surgeons the common procedure is an incision around the areola extending downwards. Where as liposuction is another effective way to remove excess fat around the armpit area.
