ISKCON Temple- Special Events

Introduction: The ISKCON Temple of Delhi is devoted to Lord Krishna and is one amongst the 40 temples in India that belongs to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. The temple is situated near the east of Kailash area, at Raja Dhirshain Marg in Sant Nagar. The ISKCON Temple was built by the devotees of Lord Krishna in the year 1998, to spread the precepts of the Bhagwad Gita.

The inner walls of the ISKCON Temple have been adorned with aesthetic works of the Russian artists which depicts the different phases of the life stories of Radha-Krishna and Sita-Ram. The engraved image of Radha-Krishna and other gods are simply stunning and beautiful. The central prayer hall and the temple museum are exceptionally attractive.

Special Events: One of the most Special Events at ISKCON Temple is the Janmashtmi festival, the day of birth of Lord Krishna, is observed on a huge extent. The festival falls in the month of August or September, during which the religious activeness of the temple reaches the highest peak. The environment of the temple becomes simply enlivening as thousands of devotees visit the temple on this auspicious day. The other special events that take place on a regular basis are religious programs like Kirtan, Aarti and Pravachan carried out in the temple compound. The museum of the ISKCON Temple organizes for multimedia shows in the evening on a regular basis except Monday, at a nominal charge.
