The Dara Shikoh Library, named after its builder, Dara Shikoh, the intellectual son of Surangazeb is a building of tremendous historical importance. After Dara Shikoh's murder, this building has been passing in different hands until it the British took over the place from the Marathas. It became the first official residence of a British citizen and was renovated by them to give it an unique look.
