Steam engines are like human beings. Photographing them is like doing a portrait of a famous personality. Each locomotive is different in the way she looks, in the way she hisses and chugs, her whistle and gait are different. The humans who surround her are very passionate about their engines. Some drivers refer to them as their second wife! Capturing the various moods of the locomotive and the people around it was very exciting.
