Galtaji Temple

Galtaji Temple is situated near Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh and is 10 kms away from the city of Jaipur. The temple is situated in the middle of the hills. The temple is surrounded by sacred springs and it is believed that taking holy baths in this water will erase all the sins from your body. The wonderful construction, the spacious ambience is ideal for a trip. The place is always overflowed by tourists and so the popularity of the temple and its significance is increasing day by day.

There are seven reservoirs, the holiest and the scared one is named as Galta Kund. The annual and the most famous event takes place in Makar Sankranti in the month of January when devotees come and take dip in the holy chilled water to clean their sin. These seven tanks are filled with spring water from Gaumukh which is a spring that is in the shape of the cow’s mouth. Galta is the temple of lord Surya i.e. Sun God. The temple was built by Diwan Rao Kriparam and is located on the highest peak of the city from where the view of the pink city is breathtaking.

Due to natural disaster the temple is getting worse and so the government is trying to maintain as well as repair the work of art. The temple is easily accessible by the local busses and auto rickshaws.
