Introduction

Siri Fort is the significant fort in the reign of Khilji Dynasty. The fort was built by Ala-ud-din Khilji and was very important in the respect of protecting Delhi and Siri from Mongol attack. The fort was never captured by any of the rulers but it had been destroyed by the then rulers who deliberately used the materials of the fort for their own sake of construction.

The fort is a must visit place for every tourists as this fort shows the sultanate period history and its typical construction. Apart from Siri fort there is other nearby attractions as follows: Hauz Khas, Kalkaji Temple, Lotus Temple, Nizamuddin's Shrine and Chirag Dehlvi's Dargah

Hauz Khas- the oldest water tank that was built to supply water to the city Siri. It was built by Ala-ud-din Khilji.

Kalkaji Temple- the famous temple of Goddess kali. The temple is located very close to Siri fort.

Lotus Temple- the Bahai temple offers secular aspects and is ideal for meditation.

Chirag Dehlvi's Dargah-this is a burial ground of Nasir-ud-din- Mamud situated in the chirag village.
