Nehru Memorial Museum

"Life is a game of cards. The hand that is dealt you is determinism, the way you play it is free will"- Jawaharlal Nehru

The Nehru Museum had been the initial residence of the British forces in India but the first Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru spent the last 16 years of his life in the mansion. So, the mansion is full of antiques that are reminiscences of the war period of the Independence Struggle.

Since the interior dcor consists of teak wood, with high ceiling, a feeling of awe immediately is evoked as we enter in to the Museum. After the death of Jawaharlal Nehru this mansion of his was converted into a museum to pay homage to the late Prime Minister and also to make people aware of the various strategic weapons used by the Indian Freedom Fighters. This mansion is also known as Teen Murti Bhavan.

Since it had been a resident place, the interior of this mansion consists of a large bedroom, drawing room and Study Room. There is also an eternal flame called the Jawahar Jyoti that burns all along the day and night in order to remind us of the ideals and he paths that were followed by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru during his lifetime.

The various achievements including the Bharat Ratna medal is on display, inside the museum hall. There is also an arrangement for the visual display of the various attainments of the great hero during his lifetime, his visit to Cambridge University and his degree of an advocate.

The speech of Nehru on the midnight when Indian achieved Independence is inscribed on a colossal granite stone placed in front of the Museum that reminds us of the ultimate success of the India Freedom fighters.
