Nai Sarak

Introduction

Nai Sarak or New Street is the road that connects the famous Chandni Chowk to Chawri Bazaar. It is a retail market where mainly school and college textbooks are available.

Nai Sarak derived its name from the fact that it is comparatively a new road built by the British after the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857. The street is lined with modern buildings.

Each book shop specializes in a particular field of study. Books on all subjects are available in bookshops on Nai Sarak.

There are other shops like textile shops selling cotton, silk and other kinds of saris. Shops selling musical instruments are also available.
