Introduction

Previously called 'Bazaar-i-Musaqqaf', the Lahore Gate of the Red Fort leads to the covered market of Meena Bazaar. Shah Jahan thought of constructing a covered market after visiting one in Peshawar in 1646. He asked Mukarmat Khan, the person responsible for the construction of the Red Fort to build a roofed market.

Red Fort - palace of the erstwhile kingdom of Shajahanabad, Redo Fort was built by Shah Jahan. The name of the fort is derived from the imposing red walls of Red Fort. The walls of the Red Fort are 2.5 kilometers long and 33 meters high. The two main gates to the Red Fort are the Delhi Gate and the Lahori Gate. There are a number of magnificent palatial buildings inside the Red Fort like Diwan-I-Aam, Diwan-I-Khas and Rang Mahal.

Jama Masjid - also known as Masjid-i-Jahan Numa, Jama Masjid is the most important mosque of India. Completed in 1656, it was constructed by Shah Jahan. The mosque houses several relics from the past.
