Lodi Gardens- Fast Facts

Introduction: Lodi Gardens, previously known as Lady Willington Park, were re-landscaped in the year 1968, and the National Bonsai Park, with a vast collection of bonsais, is within the Lodi Gardens. The finely and attractively landscaped sprawling gardens with fountains, small water bodies and a nice jogging trail are very popular and favorite with people of all ages in the city. The major attractions are the monuments belonging to the Lodi and Sayyid periods around which the gardens were set up in 1936. The Lodi Gardens is in its paramount position during the months of February and March, when the winter season flowers are in full bloom. The Lodi Gardens has a Rose Garden, a Green House where plants are stored and numerous kinds of trees. Throughout the year many species of birds are seen in the gardens. The heart of ultra-modern South Delhi has preserved a stunning exemplar of history like the Lodi Gardens.

Location: The Lodi Gardens is located on the main Lodi Road, about 1 kilometer east of Safdarjang's Tomb.

Admission Fee: The entrance to the Lodi gardens is free of cost and is open for all. The whole sightseeing might take 1 hour to even a whole day.

Admission Timings: The gardens are open from sunrise to late evening. Preferably public holidays are to be avoided for the park remains over crowded with picnickers.
