Introduction

Built over six years and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, Lakshmi Narayan Temple is located near Mandir Marg, on the west of Connaught Place. The temple is devoted to Lakshmi Narayan, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu.

Architecture

The temple has an archetypal Orissa style of architecture with a central hall. The temple is adorned with beautiful carvings from Hindu mythology and beautiful paintings are displayed in the gallery. The outside walls of Lakshmi Narayan Temple are made of white marble and red sandstone. The gardens and fountains add to the beauty of the temple.
