"Live as brave men and if fortune is adverse, front its blows with brave hearts" - Cicero.

If gallantry and nerve are the key to success then Begam Samru had that all! She was one of those exquisite queens in the history of India who attained a place for herself just by buoyancy and valor and not by paternal identity, as did the Mughal emperors after Babur.

She deserves special mention due to her perspicuous commandments in the battle fields and her overwhelming courage to tackle soldiers whom she maintained and also helped the Mughal emperor at time for his requirement and thus was honored for her bravery and commitment.

She was bestowed the honor by granting her a mansion at the hub of Delhi, then a main source of the emperor's revenue income, because it was the capital of Mughal India too.

The main places of attraction around Begam Samru's Palace are:

Red Fort: The most elegant Old Delhi's monument is the Lal Quila or the Red Fort that had been erected by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It is made up of sandstone and the river Yamuna flows beside it.
