The historical monument of India Gate stands majestically in Central Delhi. The eternal flame of Amar Jawan Jyoti burns at its base and attracts a large number of visitors each year. Rajpath: This well designed street extends from the India gate to the Rashtrapati Bhawan and has large ponds, trees and lush green lawns on either side.

Rashtrapati Bhawan: This is the official residence of the President of India. The most striking feature of this building is the central dome which is inspired by the Sanchi Stupa. Of the 340 rooms the Durbar hall or the throne room which is the venue of all official functions is the grandest.

Parliament House: This is the historic building where the world's largest democracy meets. Its significance also lies in the fact that in the central hall of this building the British transferred power on 15th August 1947 and India emerged as an independent nation.

North and South Block: These two secretariat buildings are located on Raisina Hill. They are inspired by the Union buildings in Pretoria in South Africa. The former houses the Home Affairs and Finance Ministry and the latter houses the ministry of External Affairs. Do not miss out on the memorable lines inscribed on the gateway of the Northern Block which are as follows - "Liberty will not descend to people: people must raise themselves to liberty. It is a blessing which must be earned before it can be enjoyed".

Qutab Minar: This is a five storeyed stone tower, the first three towers of which are built of red sandstone and the last two of marble and sandstone. This architectural marvel is the highest stone tower in India.

Jantar Mantar: This is one of the world's oldest astronomical observatories and is reflective of the scientific and technological progress that we had made in the 18th century. 6 instruments are kept here.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib: This is the palace where Guru Hari Kishan, the eighth Sikh Guru resided when he came to Delhi in the year 1664. Reflective of remarkable architectural dexterity the palace is an important pilgrim spot for all the Sikhs.

National Gallery of Modern Art: The palace of the maharaja of Jaipur houses the National gallery of Modern Art. It has an amazing collection of paintings and sculptures by Indian and International artists.

National Museum of Natural History: The theme based galleries of the National Museum educates as well as entertains the visitors. They acquaint you with the flora and fauna of the country.
