Introduction

Built by Maharaja Vinay Singh in 1845, the Siliserh Lake Palace is a well known tourist location about 18 kilometers from Alwar. The beautiful Siliserh Lake near the palace stretches over an area of 10.5 square kilometers. The palace now converted into a heritage hotel attracts tourists visiting Alwar. The serene lake is used by the vacationers for boating, sailing and fishing purposes.

There are different kinds of boats available here. The most common being motor boat offered for 15 minutes cost close to Rs 300. The boat rides can be a memorable experience for the tourists.

Description

The thick forested Aravalli hills and the chhatris or cenotaphs of the palace on the bank of the lake, provides added beauty and charm to the beautiful Siliserh Lake. The lake is populated with different species of birds and fishes.
