setting up new industrial units at the growth-centres in the district or outside the
growth-centre areas:
- Food Products
- Cotton Textiles
- Textile Products including Wearing Apparel other than Footwear
- Chemicals and Chemical Products except Products of Petroleum and Coal;
- Non-Metallic Mineral Products;
- Electricity; and
- Repair Services.
Besides, these industry groups, some specific industries having
development potential are: poultry, cattle breeding, goat and sheep rearing, cattle feed,
poultry feed, food, fruits and vegetables processing, tobacco curing, bidi, sugar and
by-pro- ducts, canning, cotton ginning and pressing, cold storage, oil mill, dal mill,
vanaspati, soap making, bone meal, starch, lac culture, banana fibre, cottonseed oil,
leather goods, solvent extraction, agricultural equipment, engineering, automobile and
electrical ancillaries and service industries.
