Industrial Opportunities:
The district has good dvelopment potential, which is yet to be fully
exploited. It therefore, needs special attention for its industrial progress. Industry
groups indicated below have good scope for development in this district:
- Food Products;
- Cotton Textiles;
- Paper and Paper Products, Printing, Publishing and Allied Industries;
- Non-Metallic Mineral Industries;
- Electricity; and
- Repair Services.
Specific industries having good potential for growth include: Dairy,
goat and sheep rearing, wood processing, tanning, leather products, food and fruits
processing, cattle feed, sugar and by-products, distillery, khandsari, oil mills, cotton
ginning and pressing, rice mills, flour mills, fertilizer, pesticides, phenyle, solvent
extraction, agricultural implements,engineering, ancillaries electrical goods and service
