Elec- chemical tronics ----------------------------------------------------------- CAPITAL MARKET Number of Stock Exchanges : 3 Name of the Stock Exchanges : Ahmedabad, Baroda and Rajkot Number of Stocks Registered : 731 FISCAL & FINANCIAL CONCESSIONS/INCENTIVES The State Government has introduced New Industrial Policy, offering package of incentives which include; Capital Investment Subsidy Scheme, Sales Tax Incentive Schemes, covering Sales Tax Exemption or Sales Tax Deferment benefits, additional incentives to employment oriented industries, Pioneer units incentive scheme, prestigious units incentive schemes and special incentives for setting up 100% export oriented units. The State Government also offers special incentives for setting up electronic industry covering subsidy and sales tax benefits. The new incentive schemes have also been introduced for the first time, for modernisation of existing units and rehabilitation of sick industrial units. All these incentives are for five years period starting from 16th August, 1990 to 15th August, 1995. The new industrial policy is made applicable to as many as 140 talukas, out of 184 talukas of the State and grouped into two categories. In addition, incentives are offered in 8 special backward regions and 15 industrial estates. The tiny sector has been separated for the first time from general category of small scale sector and is offered incentives at higher rate. The incentives are also offered to units undertaking expansion of their activity in eligible areas. With the introduction of new industrial policy, the State Government aims to accelerate the pace of industrial development generating employment for 1 million persons during five years period 1990-1995.
