Some of the well known community service initiatives that have been undertaken by the Baby Memorial Hospital
are:
Medical Camps: Baby Memorial Hospital has successfully organized medical camps in the Kalpetta region in Wayanad. The team of expert
medical professionals successfully treated around 835 patients who had registered themselves.
Smile Train Project: It was a unique screening camp that was organized by the Baby Memorial Hospital in association with the Rotary
Calicut East. The project aimed to help around 50 poor patients who underwent surgeries at the hospital.
Arthritis and joint replacement camp: An Arthritis Joint replacement camp was organized at the premises of the hospital in
collaboration with the Rotary Calicut central to make people aware of the various issues relating to arthritis and joint replacement. Free
implants were given to 60 registered patients and 7 poor patients.
World Epilepsy Day: The Neurology Department of Baby Memorial Hospital marked the World Epilepsy Day by conducting free check up of
70 patients. Awareness campaigns were also made on around 70 patients. The hospital also adopted 20 poor patients for free medical
treatment.
Chikunguniya awareness camp: To prevent the spread of Chikunguniya and spread awareness on the disease, the Baby Memorial Hospital
organized an awareness camp at the Hotel Malabar Palace. Around 250 people came to the awareness camp.
Seminar of Carcenoma Breast: A CME and seminar on Carcenoma Breast was organized by the medical experts of Baby Memorial Hospital.
Around 140 doctors and post graduate students took part in the seminar. There was also an interactive session to spread awareness on breast
cancer.
Adolescent gynaec health issues: A seminar and awareness camp was organized by the Baby Memorial Hospital on various adolescent
gynecological health issues. Around 200 girl students took part in the seminar.
In addition to these, the Baby Memorial Hospital has also organized lots of other community service initiatives to help make society a
great place to live.
