Fortunately, we didn’t have any guide. Mr. Devender Singh (Driver) gave us the explanations we needed.

TRANSPORT

Mr. Devender Singh is a very good driver. He speaks very good English. He is very helpful. He understood very quickly what we needed, which kind of tourists we were. A high quality person!

TRIP EXPERIENCE

The trip justified our expectations.

The most memorable stops where Jaisalmer and Udaipur, two small cities where it was possible to walk.

It was very nice to meet you there in your office on my first day in India. Manohar Lal was also very kind to me -- an excellent choice for meeting me at the airport! Say hello to him for me. Tell him I very much enjoyed my trip in the tuk-tuk back from your office to my hotel. Several other young people in tuk-tuks laughed to see me, obviously a western tourist, riding in a tuk-tuk. I took pictures of a couple of them and they came out quite well.

The best hotel, incidentally, was Shree Ram International in Jodhpur. It was in Jodhpur also that I had the best guide, Hari. He had excellent English and was very intelligent and very kind.

My wife and I would just like to thank you and all of the people we met from Indian Pvt limited on our 3 week holiday in India in November. It really was a fantastic holiday and it was based upon the excellent organisation, driver, tour guides etc that you organised for us.

We would like to take the opportunity of thanking three people in particular.

Firstly Nihal, our driver. Although Nihal doesn't speak much English he was virtually the perfect driver. Not only excellent at driving in some very difficult circumstances with a superb, calm temperament but he was friendly and whatever we needed to do (stop at ATM's, make unscheduled evening trips) nothing was a bother to him and he couldn't have been more helpful. If we ever visit Rajasthan again we would request him as our driver if at all possible.

Secondly Shailenda who was our tour guide in Bikaner. Excellent knowledge, made everything very interesting and very humourous. We really had a good feeling" after the Bikaner tour with him.

Thirdly Solanki who was our tour guide in Agra. As with Shailenda he was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable.

The other tour guides were all very good too.

But all in all it was a great experience. Please accept our very best wishes for the New Year of 2009. You certainly made 2008 a memorable one for us.

(I think at one stage he thought he may have to put us up in his home!)

We did enjoy the upgrade to The Oberoi and were very comfortable there and will not forget their choice of food for breakfast which was unequalled anywhere else – it was really lovely.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour – I think the sight of a female tiger padding towards us on the road will live with me forever – I was so excited I am not sure I even got a decent photograph.

There is so much to see and enjoy in India I feel we have hardly scratched the surface, so we will be back! We would love to see more of Kerela – the hill stations and cardamom fields – and of course more tiger.

All the arrangements were executed efficiently and the personnel were all attentive and kind to us. Our driver for the major part of the tour (Chennai – Kumarakom) was charming, helpful and a real pleasure to travel with as well as being a calm and careful driver. The guides were informative and friendly. Checking in at all hotels was completely trouble free, and the overall standard was quite in line with our expectations. We opted for 3 to 4 star hotels and would only make one small comment about this. The Hotel Abu Palace in Chennai was probably quite a significant hotel in past times, but is today rather shabby! The personnel are charming, but for a hotel in a large city it is not really very good to have no running hot water in the rooms except between 6 and 10.30 am! Also, it is situated in an area which has little in the way of restaurants.

As you would be aware, this trip was originally organised to take place in November 2005 with my late husband, daughter and myself doing the tour. Comments: We are safely back after our Ladakh holiday having greatly enjoyed I, everything went to plan, with some adjustments to suit the weather conditions!!

As usual your team were first class and all the pick ups etc. in Delhi were on time and welcoming. In Leh and local agent made us very welcomed and he provided a good guide, another Dorje, to accompany us on our travels. The spic and Span Hotel was fine and made particularly so by the helpful and friendly attitude of the staff.

Thanks to you and all our friends at Indian Holiday for making our stay so enjoyable. I am sure we will be back for more!!
